MXtreme also integrates Symantec Brightmail Anti-Spam™ as a value-added option for managed spam filtering.

MXtreme's Blended Filters

MXtreme’s built in spam tools catch up to 98% of all spam that passes through corporate email servers and provides remarkably low ratios of 1 in 100,000 false positives. These dramatic results and comprehensive mail security results are achieved by using Blended Filters with Objective and Subjective filtering technology. They include blacklist/ whitelist, RBL, SPF for anti-fraud and anti-phishing, DCC for bulk email, specific access patterns and pattern-based message filters. Users can build their own personalized whitelists and manage their own quarantine areas.

The integrity of each message is then verified utilizing MXtreme’s high performance Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) and mail firewall. Once a scan is completed the content is passed through MXtreme’s subjective spam filters – including Statistical Token Analysis (STA) for "Smart" Bayesian lexical analysis, which catches the remaining spam content – and other local content filters.

Brightmail Anti-Spam Enterprise Edition Option

MXtreme also offers the Symantec Brightmail Spam Filter as a value-added option. Brightmail managed filters protect over 300 million mailboxes world-wide and offer a false positive guarantee of 1 in 1 million messages. MXtreme’s S-Core™ OS and high-performance MTA work seamlessly with Brightmail to deliver a secure, highly accurate and managed anti-spam solution.

Rich Disposition Options

Messages tagged by either MXtreme’s anti-spam filters or Brightmail can be handled in a variety of ways: administrators can block or delete messages, modify subject headers, add X-headers, send messages to global quarantine, or provide any combination of these actions.
