The following steps detail the methods employed prior to gaining ‘Exlayer Warranted’ status for your network and systems.

Step-1

A no cost initial survey of existing hardware, applications, network and security controls, and identification of any existing issues or requirements.

Step-2

A no cost proposal detailing the minimum design requirements in order for Exlayer to Warrant the systems and for the provision of our quality support services. The minimum requirements will include:

  • Broadband Internet connection
  • Windows NT4, 2000 or XP workstations (We do not support 98, ME or older OS)
  • Suitable backup mechanism Anti-virus protection that forces pattern updates without user interactions
  • Suitable firewall protection and implementation of a sensible security policy

Step-3

Following acceptance of the minimum requirements, an IPSec VPN is established between the client’s office and the Exlayer data centre. Support document is prepared and presented for the client and the Exlayer engineers. The IT infrastructure is now fully ‘Exlayer Warranted’.

Maintaining the systems

The client is assigned an account manager and at least two named engineers. The above personnel will be the client’s first line for support or advice on any IT matters.

Wherever necessary, client’s servers and workstations can be accessed remotely by the named support personnel. Even when on business trip, secure remote access of laptop PCs is possible over our SSL VPN infrastructure. This can be achieved by a telephone call to Exlayer and a ‘one key’ operation for the user.

Engineers will visit client offices to solve the problems as necessary and although onsite response times vary depending on the contract, an engineer will be on site within less than one hour for City of London based clients, and within less than two hours elsewhere in London.

Quarterly maintenance logs are prepared and presented to the clients, which may also include improvement plans.

Our Fees

A standard service agreement, which excludes any proactive support, would typically cost a client 300 – 400 pounds per PC annually. An Exlayer Warranted system and support fee can be obtained from 500 pounds per PC / Server annually and provides clients with a ‘second to none’ support services and ultimately the best quality service available in London.
