Trend Micro ScanMail Suite for Microsoft Exchange provides comprehensive antivirus and content security to help ensure the uninterrupted flow of inbound and outbound messaging traffic. The solution is designed to filter malicious threats and inappropriate content from both inbound and outbound email in real time before they reach the desktop. In addition, ScanMail Suite includes Trend Micro Control Manager 2.5 to help contain virus outbreaks with the deployment of prevention policies during the critical pre-pattern stage of an outbreak. ScanMail Suite also uses Trend Micro Control Manager to provide centralised configuration, reporting, management, and deployment of scan engine and virus pattern files across an enterprise.

Active Message Filter

ScanMail Suite deletes email viruses, spam, and specified attachments before they are delivered to users, reducing the amount of calls and emails to the help desk and eliminating messages with unproductive content from reaching end users.

Anti-spam and Email Content Filtering

ScanMail Suite employs user-defined rules and Boolean logic operators (AND, OR, NOT) to block spam and filter content in emails and attachments, reducing the risk of introducing inappropriate content into the network via email servers and increasing productivity.

Automatic Virus Signature File Updates

ScanMail Suite saves time and resources with automatic or scheduled Web-based virus updates from TrendLabs. Virus update files can also be downloaded and distributed to all ScanMail Suite servers using Trend Micro Control Manager 2.5 (which is included in ScanMail Suite).

Customisable Notifications

ScanMail Suite can be configured to send out warning notifications for viruses, attachment blocking, or outbreak alerts. Messages can be customised based on a range of tags including date and time of infection, Exchange server that is infected with the virus, infected file name, action taken on the infected file, recipient being infected, etc.

High-performance Scanning

Memory scanning and multi-threaded scanning capabilities enhance the speed of email scanning and minimise the impact to the Exchange server. Virus scanning is transparent unless a virus is detected; at which point, the sender, recipients, and administrator can be alerted by email.
